Brisket Brothers Barbecue Team

Competitive barbecue is a big thing in Texas and the largest barbecue competition I’ve seen is the one at Dripping Springs Founders’ Day each year. I don’t know the exact number of teams taking part but it must be well over 100, all of whom bring elaborate camp kitchens and set up their smokers in the town streets. Competitions for various meats occur during the weekend and the final product is usually available to visitors in exchange for a donation.

This shot shows Brandt Whisenant and two of the other members of the Brisket Brothers team.

You can see all my favourite pictures from Dripping Springs Founders’ Day 2014 here.
