Hamilton Pool (IR)

I spent some time during the late afternoon last Sunday out at Hamilton Pool. This was my first visit in 5 years or so and the place has changed quite a bit in that time due, mostly, to the historic drought we’re experiencing here in Texas. The pool water level was down somewhere around 3 feet and the waterfall had slowed to a trickle.

After last week’s storm, the water colour was brown rather than the usual green/blue so my colour shots don’t look as appealing as I would like. In black and white, though, the view is still spectacular.

In addition to “normal” images, I also shot some infra-red and this is one of those shots. As with all the wide angle shots I’ve posted showing the pool, this is an HDR. It’s pretty much impossible to capture this scene in a single exposure because the brightness difference between the interior and the exterior is so huge.
