Painted Altar, Sts Cyril and Methodius Church

Back on the trail of the Texas painted churches today with a shot of the altar at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner. Two of the three churches we visited during that day were named for these saints yet they were not names I had come across before. It seems that Cyril and Methodius were the people who first translated the Bible into the Czech language and, as a result, they were rather popular in the Czech-speaking Christian communities which originally settled this area of central Texas.
