Pulpit Fall, Greyfriars Parish Church, Lanark

I spent some time one morning last week down at my old church, Greyfriars Parish Church in Lanark, Scotland. Part of my interest in visiting was to meet the “new” minister, Bryan Kerr (we’ve “known” each other for years via Facebook but had never actually met in person) but I was also keen to see how the building had changed in the decade or so since I last visited and to grab a few pictures. One thing that immediately caught my attention was this wonderful pulpit fall. It was made by local textile artist Myra Gibson. I commented on how lovely it was to Bryan who told me to take a look at the back. There, I found a label showing that it had been given to the church in memory of my mother, a very active member, who passed away 11 years ago. I’m sure she would have been delighted by this and the way the church is changing with the times.

For the technically inclined...
