Drew In His Element

I don’t typically post iPhone images here (they tend to go on Instagram or my Tumblr blog) but occasionally, I take something on the phone that merits a place as my photo of the day and today is one of those occasions. Had everything gone according to plan, we would have been camping at Buescher State Park this weekend. We got out there yesterday and pitched tents and hung around by the lake reading or paddling Drew’s kayak (which, as we discovered, isn’t quite large enough for an adult after all). With a forecast of rain, though, we decided to head back in to Bastrop to catch a movie and get dinner rather than sitting inside the tents while the rain passed through. The rain turned out to be rather heavier than we expected, though, since, when we returned, our tent had leaked enough that our sleeping bags were wet. Rather than spend a soggy night under canvas and hope that things would be dryer in the morning, we opted to pack everything up and drive home. In retrospect, given that it’s been pummeling rain all morning here, it was definitely the right decision.

Regardless of our weather woes, I got at least one usable picture from the experience, though!

For the technically inclined...
