The World Endurance Championship returns to Circuit of the Americas today for three days of long distance racing. In case you’ve not heard of it, this is the race series that includes the famous “24 Hours of Le Mans” each year. The Austin race is a mere 6 hours long (on Saturday) but is interesting because it starts at 5pm and drives through sunset until 11pm. It’s the only race you’ll see at COTA where headlights are important.
While I’ve never shot WEC racing (I’ve always been working at the track while WEC is on and I can’t carry a camera while driving a shuttle) but here’s a shot from the American Le Mans Series race back in 2013. It took place on the same weekend as WEC and uses similar cars.
For the technically inclined...
Sounds like a fun time Dave, great shot here as well
