Porsche at Lone Star Le Mans

Last Saturday’s 6 hour “Lone Star Le Mans” race was won by car number 17, the Porsche 919 Hybrid driven by Mark Webber (of Formula 1 Red Bull team fame), Timo Bernhard and Brendon Hartley. During an endurance race like this, keeping track of positions can be tricky, especially considering there are four different car classes all racing together. To help things out, each car has three LED blocks on the side which light up if the car is first, second or third in their respective class. As you can see here, car 17 was first in the LMP1 (Le Mans Prototype 1) class when I grabbed this image about an hour into the race.

For the technically inclined...

  • Camera: NIKON D810
