At Napoleon’s Tomb, Paris

This large, gilded crucifix can be found in Les Invalides above the tomb of Napoléon Bonaparte in the centre of Paris. The actual sarcophagus, which you can’t see in this image, is a huge (15 feet tall?) red marble structure sitting in a circular gallery below this level.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/3.5
  • Camera: NIKON D700
  • Focal length: 28mm
  • ISO: 1600
  • Shutter speed: 1/60s
