Texas Bluebonnets




For a couple of weeks every year, normally in late March or early April, the Texas hill country is a sea of blue thanks to the millions of bluebonnets which bloom here. The wildflower palette becomes more varied after the bluebonnets disappear with yellow and red becoming dominant for the remainder of the one to two month-long Spring wildflower season.

This picture was taken yesterday during a walk we took at the Lady Bird Johnson Park in Fredericksburg.
