Cody Mobley, Ambrotype Artist

Let’s leave racing behind for today. On Saturday, we visited the annual Pioneer Day at the Dr Pound House in Dripping Springs and enjoyed demonstrations of various crafts, games and activities from the mid to late 19th century. As you can imagine, one of the demonstrations which I found particularly interesting was Cody Mobley’s ambrotype making. You can find examples of his work on Instagram at @mobleyambrotypes.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/4.8
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 38mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/350s
