In Front of the F1 Crowd

Brendon Leitch of Kiwi Motorsport seen at Turn 1 of Circuit of the Americas on October 22nd, 2017 during the second of two F4 US Championship races held that weekend.

One of the trickiest requests I had from Brendon’s sponsor was to capture images containing crowds. Although the attendance at COTA for Formula 1 weekend was great in 2017, the F4 support events tended to be scheduled at times when the stands were rather empty. Only the second race occurred during the main part of the day giving me a chance to shoot at turn 1 and get a decent number of people visible in the background. By the time the F1 portion of the day’s program began an hour or so later, the half-full grandstand seen here was filled.
