Figure in Smoke

Plans for an outdoor photography day with Drew yesterday were thwarted by a dull, drizzly day so we stayed at home and played with some smoke photography instead. I’ve loved abstracts created by smoke for years but had never actually tried it myself. Here’s one of the images that resulted. If you stare at it for a minute, I wonder if you begin to see a figure emerge from the mist too?

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/45
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 90mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1/250s
