North Hays County Fire Rescue

I’ve just finished shooting the most exciting assignment I’ve had in quite a few years. I spent two weeks covering North Hays County Fire Rescue, gathering images for their 2019 calendar. The calendar, which covers 18 months, will be published in July and I’ll run a few pictures from it when it’s available. For this week, though, I’ll be posting some of the pictures that didn’t make the calendar cut this year but which I loved. To get the ball rolling, here’s a group shot taken last Thursday evening after an exciting couple of hours of “extrication training” which involved hacking wrecked cars to pieces with lots of very large, very powerful tools.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/4.8
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Exposure bias: +3/6EV
  • Focal length: 22mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1/45s
