Horse and Rider

Here’s a shot from another recent event I covered in Dripping Springs. A couple of weeks ago was the annual Red Arena Roundup, a fundraiser for our local riding center for disabled children. As part of the event, there was a trail ride at the Ranch Park and I spent my morning covering it. The event, organized by Equine Trail Sports, involved a 6 mile ride with various tests and obstacles along the way. In this picture, one of the participants waits in the shade before taking her turn at one of the obstacle stations.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: NIKON D500
  • Exposure bias: +1.3EV
  • Focal length: 200mm
  • ISO: 720
  • Shutter speed: 1/400s
