Three in the Air

Apologies for the gap in posting over the last 4 or 5 days. My laptop SSD failed and I’ve been busy installing a new one and restoring all my backups. Now that I’m all restored, here’s a picture from my fun last Saturday when I was shooting the Americas Rallycross event at Circuit of the Americas. This part asphalt, part dirt course is set up between turns 12 and 15 on the Grand Prix circuit, offering spectators in the T15 grandstand a great view of the action.

In this picture, Tanner Foust leads Chris Atkinson and Patrik Sandell over the jump during the final of the supercar class. Winners Scott Speed and Ken Block had already passed by the time I took this, stirring up a lot of dust.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/6
  • Camera: NIKON D500
  • Focal length: 360mm
  • ISO: 1400
  • Shutter speed: 1/1000s

I love this shot. Between the awesome light and the dust it really conveys Rally Cross.
