New Lanark (1)

It’s time for another short series of images. While back home, I enjoy visiting New Lanark which is a short and very picturesque walk from my father’s house. This 18th century industrial village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to it being the home of Robert Owen and David Dale’s experiment in treating factory workers as human beings rather than merely muscle.

I could wax lyrical for pages about what a wonderful place New Lanark is, it’s amazing history, the renovation and restoration that has gone on over the last 50 years, and how it is still a thriving community but you would probably be better reading about it on their web site at https://www.newlanark.org.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: E-M5MarkII
  • Focal length: 42mm
  • ISO: 400
  • Shutter speed: 1/30s
