Cloudy Valley, Big Bend National Park

Low clouds shroud the top of some of the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park. This shot was taken on the main park road between the Chisos Basin cutoff and Panther Junction on April 4th, 2021. I used the rather wonderful Olympus 100-400mm f/5.0-6.3 lens to highlight a small detail in the wide mountain vista on the right of the road as we drove through the park at the start of our journey back to Austin.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/10
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 300mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/640s
