During our recent trip, we spent a couple of days in Lafayette, Louisiana. One of the things we did there was to make a visit to Vermilionville, an outdoor museum chronicling the history of the Cajun and Acadian people in the area. Docents and musicians in costume really did a great job of educating and entertaining. The village features a couple of dozen houses and buildings illustrating the architectural styles and building methods used over the years. Here’s one of the those buildings whose chimney I found rather appealing.
