As a die hard Lewis Hamilton fan, I was pretty sure this year’s World Championship would go to my guy. Starting today’s race even on points, Lewis was 10 seconds ahead of Max with 5 laps to go in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but fate jumped in as Nicholas Latifi crashed and brought out the safety car. After a controversial decision to let some lapped cars pass and bring the safety car in with one lap to go, Max, on new soft tyres, overtook Lewis on the last lap and took the title.
Congratulations to Max and Red Bull on a fantastic season and congratulations to everyone in F1 for providing such great entertainment this year!
