Petals at the Blanton

The centrepiece of the recent grounds redesign at the Blanton Museum of Art in Austin is this installation, The Petals. Twelve, 40 foot tall, curved sculptures provide a canopy over the entrance to the plaza at Martin Luther King Blvd and provide a wonderful frame for views of the new Capitol Mall and the Texas State Capitol beyond.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/16
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 13mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 15s
