Rainey Street




We’re back in Austin today. I headed downtown yesterday evening to meet Flickr friend Randy von Liski and we spent golden and blue hours flying drones from the Seaholm area. The light after sunset was gorgeous and I took quite a few shots I’ve not captured before. Here’s a view showing Austin’s expanding downtown core. Skyscraper construction is currently replacing the small restaurants and bars that used to inhabit the Rainey Street area just east of the previous high-rise area of the city. You can also see crowds gathered on the Ann Richards Bridge over Congress Avenue waiting for Austin’s famed bat exodus.
