Corra Linn

During our brief visit to New Lanark last week, we took the usual walk up the River Clyde to see the waterfalls. Corra Linn, shown here, is the second of three sets of waterfalls found in the two mile section of the river upstream of the town where the Clyde flows through a deep gorge. Corra Linn and its upstream sister Bonnington Linn, usually have low flow rates due to the majority of the river water being diverted through a hydro-electric power plant.

This image is a testament to the amazing image stabilization capabilities of the OM-1. This was taken handheld at 1/3 second shutter speed and I have images from this trip with speeds as low as 4 seconds which are perfectly sharp.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/16
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 44mm
  • ISO: 80
  • Shutter speed: 1/3s
