This photo (and others I was taking early last Wednesday morning) almost got me left behind on the Croatian island of Brac when our boat’s captain decided to leave port half an hour before the tour guide had told us he would. I had left the boat at 6am to catch some photos around the harbour of Pucisca and planned to return to the boat at 7am, 30 minutes before the scheduled departure. At 6:55, when I was about 50 yards from the boat, I got a frantic text from my wife and noticed that the boat was already edging away from the quay. Luckily the crew noticed me and I managed to hop aboard by climbing across another boat tied up nearby and stepping across onto ours. The guide was most apologetic and I get the impression he and the captain did a better job of coordinating plans after that excitement!
