Goodbye DannyRic!

The Formula 1 fan world is all aflutter today after yesterday’s news that globally-loved Aussie driver Daniel Ricciardo has lost his seat at the RB racing team. Ricciardo endeared himself through his enormous grin, off-track antics, and disgusting but entertaining habit of making folks on the podium drink champagne out of his shoe when we placed in a race (the famed “Shoey”). He’ll be heading off to pastures new but I strongly suspect we’ll still see him involved in racing in some position or other. In the meantime, here’s a picture from his heyday, driving for the Red Bull team during the 2017 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, Austin.

Ricciardo was on the podium after the 2016 US Grand Prix and managed to convince Gerald Butler, presenting the cups that year, to have some champagne.
