Last weekend, I made the trip up to Dallas with the Longhorn Band to join the fun at the Cotton Bowl for the annual Red River Rivalry match between the University of Texas Longhorns and the University of Oklahoma Sooners. This game has a reputation for fans being unfriendly towards the opposing team with shouts of “OU Sucks” a common greeting between Texas fans for at least a couple of weeks before the game starts. That may be true of their football team but the Pride of Oklahoma band certainly doesn’t qualify. They put on a stellar half time show and, as always, showed great camaraderie with the members of the Longhorn Band. Here’s a shot of the two drum majors, Halle McFarlane from OU and Jaiden Walker of UT, taken while the bands were practicing before kick-off.
