Hellraisers and Wildcats

I’m heading back to the final home game of this season for today’s photo. I’ve taken many photos of the Longhorn Hellraisers over the years but this stands out as my favourite of 2024 and was taken during the Longhorns’ game against the University of Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024. I had positioned myself in the student section at the end of the 3rd quarter, knowing that there would be an orange smoke release and hoping for some interesting pictures. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing in the wrong direction that day and the smoke all headed away from the students but I still got some great reaction shots including this one.

You can find all my pictures from this game at https://davewilson.smugmug.com/UT-Longhorn-Band/2024/Kentucky-November-23rd.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/2.8
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 7mm
  • ISO: 500
  • Shutter speed: 1/350s
