I got back onto penguin images again yesterday so here’s another. We spent an hour or so on December 19th last year fascinated by groups of Gentoo penguins coming and going on this beach on New Island, one of the Falklands archipelago. The surf was somewhere between 6 and 8 feet but they were timing their entries and exits nicely to minimize the chance of getting swept back up the beach. Here a group waddles as quickly as possible to escape the next wave.
