This was a jetlag-aided shot taken right outside the Mark Hopkins Hotel on Nob Hill in San Francisco last April. Aside from the spectacular light, the one thing I remember was how amazingly cold it was. I had raced outside in jeans and a T shirt and discovered that I really needed that fleece that was up in my suitcase too. The wind was blowing strongly and I was heading into hypothermia territory.
I shot this with a long lens (200mm) to compress the perspective and actually took more with a doubler after this. In the end, though, I preferred this version since it included the foreground cable-car.
This is very good, Dave, as usual! GLad you got the cable car in there… It really makes it “San Fran”!
