Space Needle, Seattle

The Space Needle was built for the 1962 Worlds’ Fair and was, at that time, the tallest building west of the Mississippi. It’s elevators take 41 seconds to climb 600 feet to the top but, on windy days, the time doubles as they run slower. Although I’ve not been up there, the top of the tower houses a restaurant and an observation deck.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/9.5
  • Camera: CORPORATION
  • Focal length: 170mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/350s
