As a family, one of our favourite places is White Sand National Monument near Alamogordo, New Mexico. It’s a place with amazing atmosphere and, if you get a hundred yards or more from the parking lots, remarkably peaceful. We visited again this afternoon and got caught in a sandstorm. Once the dust cleared, though, the light was beautiful.
