Buxton Glacier, South Georgia

Buxton Glacier is one of three glaciers that meet and terminate at St. Andrews Bay in South Georgia. Maps indicate that the glacier front has receded by about a mile since the 1960s when it used to reach the water. Today, the huge alluvial plane in front of the terminus is home to a giant King Penguin colony.
