Continuing the theme of boats, we move to the bottom end of the size scale today with this image of an expedition zodiac cruising in front of the face of Briggs Glacier at King Haakon Bay, South Georgia on December 26th, 2024. King Haakon Bay was the location of Shackleton’s landing after his epic 800 mile sail from Elephant Island and this glacier would have been one of the first obstacles he and his companions encountered on their trek across the island in search of help.
