King Penguins, South Georgia

I’m delving back into the archive of photos from last December’s trip to Antarctica today. Here, a group of moulting King Penguins (Aptenodytes patagonicus) stand in the cool waters of the meltwater outflow from Heaney Glacier at St. Andrew’s Bay, South Georgia, December 24th, 2024.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/6.7
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 25mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/250s
