Dreamy Aspens

I took a drive up route 475 from Santa Fe into the Sangre de Cristo mountains yesterday evening to see if I could find some colourful aspens. While most of the trees were bare, there were still a few pockets of gold including this one visible from the Tesuque Peak Trail a couple of miles south of the ski area. I used a long shutter speed and some intentional camera movement to create a dreamy feel in this image.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/22
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 66mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/3s
