A male Widow Skimmer dragonfly (Libellula luctuosa) seen at Nutty Brown Farm near Austin, Texas on July 10th, 2026. It turns out that the male and female Widow Skimmers are very different. Males have a steel blue body and pronounced black and white bars on their wings while females have yellow and black striped bodies.
