South Shore, Ennerdale Water, Cumbria, England

During our holiday, Nikki and I escaped from the kids one afternoon and walked the 8 miles or so around Ennerdale Water. It was a wonderful hike on a glorious day.

The north shore of the lake, although pretty remote, has a well maintained, gravel path running along it. The trail on the south shore, however, is completely different leaving us hopping from rock to rock for half the journey.
