SRV Statue at Night, Austin

I spent a very pleasant evening last night shooting pictures downtown with a couple of friends. We ended up on Auditorium Shores just after sunset so had to take some skyline shots. Some of these, obviously, has to include the well-known Stevie-Ray Vaughan statue that can be found on the edge of Lady Bird Lake. If you prefer this shot without SRV, you can find another version on my Flickr stream here.

For the technically minded, this is actually a composite of 5 images. Four with SRV in silhouette were merged to an HDR and tone mapped to give the background. I then used Photoshop to mask in some of one of the original exposures to fix up the sky (Photomatix does nasty things to pure blue skies) and finally masked in another exposure where I had popped a flash on the statue to make it visible.
