Fort Davis Sunrise

Given my interest in HDR, I strongly suspect you though this was an HDR image too? Admit it, you did, didn’t you?

This is actually a single shot with very little post processing. I darkened the very top of the frame slightly and I changed the white balance from ”sunny” to ”cloudy” but, aside from this, I’ve done nothing fancy to the shot at all. This is exactly how I remember the sunrise just outside Fort Davis in west Texas this past July when we visited.

The skies out there are amazing, no? We were there in August of ’09 and saw some cool stuff. Good self-control resisting the HDR here 🙂

Shameless plug: This reminds me of one of my recent sunset shots http://michaeltuuk.wordpress.com/2010/09/07/fire-in-the-sky/

I must have seen your shot when I queued this one up, Mike! This was my first west Texas trip and I loved it out there. I must get back and visit Big Bend next time.
