First Stage Engine Detail (2), Saturn V

Continuing this week’s Saturn V theme, here’s another detail shot of three of the first stage engines on Johnson Space Center’s rocket. As with the previous shots, I felt this one just had to be monochrome – the textures and repeating shapes are the focus of the image and, even though there was some interesting colour in the original, it had to go away.

Some seriously amazing details in this shot. I do love the black and white personally, it really gives you the feel that you aren’t quite sure what you are looking at.

Thanks, Mike. These shots mostly yelled “black and white” to me. I’ll be posting a few in colour (like today’s) but most of the rest are also monochrome.
