Orbiter Cabin and SSME, Space Center Houston

In the past, I’ve posted a couple of pictures of the Space Center Houston space shuttle orbiter cabin mock-up (here, here and here, for example) but here’s a wider angle showing how it is placed in the exhibition space. The rocket motor in the foreground is a Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME).

In case you joined this series after I started posting Space Center Houston/JSC images, these were all taken during an overnight camp inside the space center that I took with a group of our Cub Scouts. This is an annual event and I would encourage any cub scout pack within travelling distance of Houston to look into it since it’s great fun and offers you a chance to spend quality time with a lot of space hardware while the general public are not milling around.

While I’m writing, I would also like to encourage you (or, at least politely request) that you click the graphic on the top right of the page and show your support for this blog by voting in the 2010 photoblog awards. Thanks in advance!

Well, it looks like there’s no need to head to the space center anymore. You got all of the great shots!

Evan – don’t be silly. You know that you would get a dozen shots better than any of mine if you were to visit!
