Dr. Woodie Flowers, FIRST Co-Founder

Dr. Woodie Flowers is emeritus professor of mechanical engineering at MIT and a hero in FIRST Robotics Competition circles. He was one of the co-founders of the competition back in 1989 and makes a point of attending many of the regional competitions each year.

During visits, his autograph is highly sought after and it seems that this goes both ways based on the shirt he was wearing in New York last Saturday!

On another topic, I’ve joined with several other photographers in deciding to donate print and merchandise profits to help with disaster relief in Japan. 100% of the profits from any print or merchandise bought from this blog, my SmugMug site or my ImageKind site from now through April 15th will be donated to the American Red Cross.
