Chicago Reflected

Those predicting the end of the world for 6pm local time this evening were, apparently, wrong so I thought I would try to find some kind of apocalyptic image to post for this evening to try to make them all feel a bit better about their error. This is, I’m afraid, the best I can come up with – the downtown Chicago skyline reflected in the curved surface of the Cloud Gate (better known to most of us as “The Bean”).

This is my favorite photo of your Chicago Bean series. Love the tones and curvature distortion. Well done, Dave!

Thanks, guys. I’m rather fond of the way this image turned out. Initially, I was disappointed since the colours in this were very muted compared to the later images (see the next post) but it works really nicely as a monochrome after cropping a bit to concentrate on the central part of the reflection.

Love this Dave. I think the sky was perfect for this, and I love the length of the buildings in the bean. Great composition.
