Tricolor Heron

I visited the Birding and Nature Center a couple of times yesterday – for sunrise when I had the place almost to myself, and after breakfast when I returned with the family. During the second visit, I was suffering serious glass envy since we followed another photogrpaher totting a D3 and brand new 600mm f/4. Walking along with only a 70-300mm left me feeling rather inadequate.

On getting home, however, I didn’t feel quite so bad since I’m delighted with some of the images I shot including this one of a Tricolor Heron (Egretta tricolor). My lens may have cost about 1/30th of the price of the 600mm but it can still take pretty sharp images!
