McLaren MP4-12C

I’ll end the run of car-related images with this one showing the front end of the McLaren MP4-12C (which, I gather, has a sticker price of $229,000 and that’s before you start adding options).

From tomorrow, I’ll be back to posting random, unrelated images for a while. I’m going to be traveling for a couple of weeks and hope to be able to post new pictures while I’m on the road but, just in case, I have a collection of images queued up for use on busy days.

Shooting cars is so nice, love the glossy and shiny surfaces but one thing that can be so bad/sad with those is they are mirrors so can be hard to find a good angle with a nice clean reflection and shooting indoors under light fixture can get a lot of light reflections. Think you did a well job here but I find that white patch next to the guys legs (and the guy) a bit distracting from the lovely captured curves on this car. Still a great picture. Wouldn’t mind shooting a MP4-12C myself..

I have to agree with you Eje. The car was crawling with people and that was my main reason for shooting details. I cropped off some annoying reflections here but I couldn’t get rid of the last one without losing the edge of the headlight. I’m pretty sure the guy you are seeing was one of the sales staff and he wasn’t moving anywhere any time soon.

Hi Dave,
I agree with Eje. I found that the patch tool does wonders taking out reflections of people and objects that take away from the image. I have taken a black piece of velvet and had a person hold it to flag out stuff I don’t want. Regardless great shot as usual. I ended up not going. I looked around on the internet for info about the show…and it seem pretty small and the charge to get in was a whooping $25 bucks. They advertised that online tickets were 15, but as what I found to be 20 plus the stupid service charge. I will have to make it to the track and try there in November.
Have a safe trip and look forward to seeing more of you images. Always a joy. 🙂
