Trillium Trio

Our last evening in Oregon was spent by Trillium Lake where you get this amazing view of Mount Hood. When the light got a bit too low to continue, I grabbed a quick self-timer portrait of the three of us, from left to right, Jim Nix, myself and Justin Balog.

For the technically inclined, I used a single on-camera flash with an orange (CTO) gel and set the camera to tungsten white balance. A few test shots were needed to angle the flash upwards so that just our upper torsos were lit.

Thanks, Jim. It was a super trip and this was a phenomenal location. Looking at this image on my work monitor, I obviously need to rerun the colour calibration on my system at home since it’s wildly darker here than I saw earlier. Come to think of it, I’ve not recalibrated since Dell replaced the LCD panel at home. Oops!
