This is a shot I take pretty much every time I’m taking pictures of the band. Although I’ve posted a version of this before, I like the balance between the number of blurred players and bandmembers in this shot and the fact that there is a drummer clearly visible behind the running team members.
I suppose this picture also illustrates the dangers of becoming creatively static. Last weekend I found myself shooting a lot of pictures that were very similar to compositions I had used in the past. The trick, I guess, is to try to make each shoot different in some way while still meeting the expectations of the folks you are shooting for.
I absolutely love the contrast between still and motion. This should be a poster somewhere.

Actually, it already is! I licensed basically the same shot to a company that sells “Spirit Packs” of college football images a year or so ago.
