Lewis Hamilton, US Grand Prix

I was rather delighted that the guy I had been shouting for all weekend came through and won the US Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas. Here’s Lewis Hamilton in his Vodafone McLaren Mercedes on the track.

Readers familiar with Formula 1 may note that this car looks rather different than it did during all previous 18 races of the season. This being the US, several sponsors changed their livery on the cars to suit the local audience so, in McLaren’s case, the usual ”Vodafone” logos were replaced by ”Verizon” ones. Similarly, the ”Torro Rosso” team sported ”Red Bull” livery in Austin and this caused me some confusion since there were then four Red Bull cars on the track rather than the usual two. Thankfully, the other sponsor names and the style of the Red Bull logo was different so, once figuring this out, it wasn’t too difficult to distinguish the teams.

Great capture! The horizontal lines really emphasize speed and motion.
