Fervent Fans

College football is huge in Austin. Texas Memorial Stadium holds just over 100,000 people so, on home game days, about 10% of the greater Austin population is sitting there shouting for the Longhorns. Actually, most of them are standing there shouting for the Longhorns.

At the south end of the stadium, next to the area reserved for the band, there are a group of folks known as the Texas Hellraisers who take support to a completely new level and offer some great photo opportunities while doing it. Face paint is a must and orange wigs are pretty common in this area too.
