There was a lot of vinyl at Ben’s birthday party. Some of it was provided by Kevin who brought along a modern turntable and a collection of records from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Kenneth, however, brought along his equipment and gave us an entirely different sound.
Also going by the name DJ Give’r, Kenneth specialises in 78rpm recordings and treated us to a fabulously eclectic collection of music ranging, spanning the 1930s to the 1960s or so. While I love CDs and modern digital music systems, I can’t help but get all nostalgic when I hear great music from the spinning black albums I remember as a kid! My first turntable played 78s and some of the first music I remember hearing was from an old collection of scratched and hissy shellac discs that my father and grandfather had collected. Thankfully, Kenneth’s 78s are in far better condition than those ones!
Kenneth was really special, most people doesnt know about him but he was a gem!
