So, yesterday I mentioned part of my pre-game plan that didn’t go quite as intended on Saturday night. Rather than shoot the band from the sidelines as I have done in the past, I high-tailed it down to the south end zone and got myself positioned partway up the stand that overlooks the tunnel that the players enter the stadium through. The idea was to shoot the players running onto the field with the band lined up on either side.
This was great as the team got ready to make their entrance and I got some shots of the players like this one. I was all lined up for my compositional masterpiece but, when the players started running, I immediately found myself enveloped in a thick cloud of fog. I had completely forgotten that they set off steam/fog/smoke for the players to run through and, as a result, I had a view of exactly nothing during those all-important 5 seconds or so when the action was happening. Oh well, next time I’ll stay on the sidelines, I guess.
This is sweet Dave, I would love to shoot a big time game like this
